East River Shoreline Pool (Created in collaboration with Enid de Gracia) As Manhattan's waterfront becomes increasingly park-occupied, the fact of the river water's decidedly industrial quality becomes embattled. This project foresees a structure of pontoons supporting a flexible deck and, in a sling like that used for a stranded whale, a pool containing purified water. The entire structure moves with the wake of passing boats; swimmers occupy the river, but in the safety of a latex liner.
